Frequently Asked Questions
Who can complete these courses?
Anyone can, providing you have access to internet and an appropriate learner.
These courses are designed for all to participate especially those with anxious or reactive dogs that would find class environments stressful. These courses are also great for those that are time poor or shift workers and may not be able to commit to a weekly course.
What methods are used?
I only train using force free, reward-based training. This is otherwise known as positive reinforcement and is scientifically proven to improve learning.
Put simply, it means I will not teach you to hurt (physically/mentally) your learner when they do the wrong thing. Instead, we focus on teaching them what we want them to do and reward for this. If they offer a behaviour that is not appropriate it is either ignored or redirected to something that can be rewarded.
To learn more about reward based training read here https://www.psychologytoday.com/au/blog/canine-corner/201012/reward-training-vs-discipline-based-dog-training

How long do I have to complete?
Each course you enrol in, will allow you access for 12 months. It is designed that one course is able to be completed in 6 weeks (some people/pet teams will complete faster whilst others slower).
Each enrolment fee is for 1 animal. However, this does not stop you training others.
The videos you submit etc (if you choose to do so) must be for the individual learner identified in the enrolment paperwork.
How will I be supported?
Once you have access to the material, you can also request to be added to the Facebook group for online students.
When your enrolment period is finished, you will not be removed from the Facebook group unless group rules have been breached.
You will also be able to access help via email.
As part of the course requirement you will need to submit videos if you wish to receive the certificate at the end. These videos are so I can help you get the best from your training and pick up on areas that may be able to be improved. The videos can be uploaded in the Facebook group or via All Pets Ed FB messenger. If you do not wish the certificate, there is no pressure to submit videos, though they are welcome.
Do I have to be in Australia to complete these courses?
No. Access is worldwide, providing you have access to internet and a willing learner.
How will I be assessed?
Your relationship with your learner and the skills imparted will be assessed via short videos you upload to either the All Pets Ed FB messenger or the Facebook group. If you do not wish to be assessed, you can still access the content and choose not to upload the videos.
Will I receive a certificate?
Any that successfully complete the required number of tasks and submit these videos (for the individual learner Identified in the enrolment paperwork) during their enrolment period, will receive a digital certificate once complete.
What will the course cost?
I aim to keep fees minimal. Each course has a lot of value. The course cost is $150 AUD.
