Virtual - Loose lead walking and engagement class...

Can't make it to class?  Join an online class with others pups and their people

Next course will start: Register your interest
Taking interest for future courses.

This virtual course delivered via Zoom is designed for those that have some basics such as sit and down already, however will build on these skills over 6 weeks.

It is great for those that want to have some fun with their dog, perhaps don't have time to join regular classes, live remotely or have pooches that find the outdoor world or class scenario overwhelming.

During the 6 week course we will cover station/mat training, loose lead walking, recalls (come when called), using a long line and some distance work as well as creating engagement - having your dog choose to be with you.  Each lesson will be 45-60 minutes.

We will play focus games and scent work as well as teach you to implement management skills especially useful for your reactive or frustrated greeter pooches.

During the process we will have lots of fun, practice calm behaviours and high arousal behaviours and switching between the two.

Play confidence building games, impulse control games and help your dogs to make better choices.

You will use two markers - one for arousal and one for calm, and we will discuss adrenaline levels and working within your individual dogs needs.

Over the 6 week Zoom course, you can choose to increase the difficulty when you and your pup are ready - however for the first few weeks I would start at home in low distraction environments to set you and your pups up for success.

There is no age limit for this course.  Course cost is very affordable at $150 for 6 weeks, with a maximum of 5 dogs enrolled.

What will you need?
  • A dog
  • Internet access - wifi or phone - if you want to take it on the road - a phone plan capable of doing zoom on the run.
  • A platform that you can use to view the class and also allows video for me to see you .
  • Markers - we will go over this on the first week.
  • Raised bed/mat (5-10cm etc)
  • Collar/Harness
  • Safe space
  • Standard leash
  • Long leash
  • Long lasting chews/stuffed enrichment toy for each class
  • A small container with holes in the top - ie metal/plastic container - that is a few cm diam.
  • Tug toy - soft and washable and preferably quite long
  • Treat pouch
  • Lots of very small but high value rewards.
